Abstract

The study discusses the Competence of Waste Water Sampling Officers in the Field of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at the Cirebon City Environmental Agency. This research aims to determine the competence of officers in taking waste water sampling activities in the Field of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control at the Cirebon City Environmental Agency, to find out the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in increasing the competency of waste water sampling officers in the Field of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage at the Cirebon City Environment Office, and efforts that can improve the competency of waste water sampling officers in the Field of Pollution Control and Environmental Damage at the Cirebon City Environmental Agency. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with in-depth interviews, direct observation, and literature studies. The field study was conducted through interviews with employees in the field of Pollution and Environmental Damage in the Cirebon City Environmental Agency. Literature studies are obtained from references to books, official documents, the internet that relate to the problem under study. The qualitative data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The results obtained from this study are that the competency of waste water sampling officers in the Cirebon Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Sector in Cirebon shows that there are several obstacles, namely the lack of competency of waste water sampling officers, employees have not yet taken special education in sampling wastewater, and the absence of tools and wastewater sampling laboratory that complies with accreditation standards. In this case the dimensions of knowledge and skills are not optimal and there is still a need for increased competencies, namely general knowledge and special knowledge relating to the field of work and employees who are placed according to their skills, abilities and skills. So by doing education and expertise of employees in taking wastewater sampling, the organization's goals will be achieved in accordance with what is desired.
